Are any of the regular readers familiar with Iris Johanson, J.A. Jance, or Web Griffin? Like I have mentioned a few times I like mysteries and I was sorting out some audio books today and started wondering if they are good authors. We check out a ton of Web Griffin and J.A Jance books, but they seem to be checked out by men. Iris Johanson doesn't come close to Nora Roberts or Kristen Hannah or some of the other female authors. Anyone have advise on any of these 3 authors?

Sorry, no. The only one I'm familiar with is J.A. Jance, but have never read.
I got another Patterson one in mail tonight .. I lost track of how many I ordered.
And I picked up a Mary Higgins Clark from Library the other day.

Hey Nip, I've read lots of both Johanson and Jance and like them both. I've not read any Griffin. I like all of Jance's characters, she has several. So does Johanson.

Mary Higgins Clark is popular. There are a few female authors that are very popular that write about the Amish people. I am assuming they are Amish themselves. Beverly Lewis, Wanda Brunstetter, and a few others. A pile of those go out everyday.

Nip, I've read a few of those Amish centered books. Usually about someone who left the order but came back to live an "English) life. And usually crime is involved, one woman came back as a sheriff.

Are they any good Luv? I swear they get checked out by the dozens everyday.

I liked them, they're pretty easy reading. And you also learn about that way of life. You've sure got the pulse of what people are reading in that job!

Oh definitely. Most are checked out by older women. They check out 4 or 5 at a time. The westerns are big with the older men. Especially Louie L'Amour and William Johnstone.

Well, that's me, lol. I also get that about the Westerns. My husband has big collection of Louis L'Amour. They make good movies too - especially The Sacketts. Who can't like Tom Selleck AND Sam Elliot in one movie!

I am definitely getting educated on books, authors, popularity, etc etc.

OMG, what movie is that? I'm not a Western fan, but for those 2, I would make an exception!

Presh - that was the movie, The Sacketts. Sam and Tom are just getting out of the Civil War (were on opposite sides!) and get home to find that their sisters were kidnapped and taken to Mexico for... nefarious purposes. One of the sisters was Katherine Ross, who became Sam's wife. Good movie, how could it not be?
