Songs that you feel are VERY over-rated.
I heard Purple Rain by Prince on the way home from work and started thinking - this song was really over-rated. It's not bad, but it wasn't THAT great.

Well, I think it's more the fault of the radio stations. I remember when they played Adele to death and I thought "hey, wait a minute - she Recorded it once but the the media is the ones who are flogging it to death. That said - if I NEVER hear Debby Boone sing "You Light Up My Life" I'll die happy, lol.

I completely agree that radio stations wear songs to death! To answer your question Nip, any song sung by Beyoncé is over rated IMO!

I used to have a corporate job with radio piped in to the whole place, when that Boone song came on I picked up my telephone and hit hit "Intercom" and put the phone on my desk. Case closed for the next 3-4 minutes and then I hung it back up. Surprised myself, lol.

OMG - I hated that song Luv. There were some Bee Gee songs that drove me nuts too. I know people loved them and they were so popular after Saturday Night Fever, but their high pitched voices drove me nuts. If they come on the radio my husband turns it up real loud to drive me nuts.

When I first moved to California the beach boys seemed to playing EVERYWHERE! Parties bars restaurants at the beach in stores....till the point you got nauseous.

Bou - I couldn't even name a Beyonce song. In fact I am going to have to look up her hits. I probably know them and just didn't know who sang the song. We have very few radio station that we can get around here because this area is not REAL close to any big city. The closest is Oklahoma City and it's 85 miles. Tulsa is over 90. Plus it is very hilly, so we are limited. One station plays older hits and I hear the same songs alot. "Another One Bites The Dust" is another one they play over and over and over again.

I did look her up and yes - I recognized that song. I did like it, but they played it to death. Other than that I didn't recognize any of the others. They had Halo as her #1 hit and so I played it. I have never heard it or paid attention to it.
